Years at CTG: 3 years
Hometown: Ascot, Berkshire, UK
Current City: Colchester, Essex, UK
Favorite Song Right Now: “bad guy” by Billie Eilish
Favorite Thing to Do Outside of Work: Playing football (soccer), long walks, food, playing Mario Kart with my wife, making music, acting, learning, and blogging about leadership
My mornings start at 6 a.m. on a normal day (3:50 a.m. on Tuesdays). I kick off my day by drinking a couple pints of water and hitting the gym. After I get back and shower, I write lists of what I have done the previous day, what I am aiming to do today, and how those goals align to my overall goals for the week.
Currently I am working on a couple of projects. One is to deploy our DMS product to multiple EU countries working with one of our Telecomm clients. The other project, a result of our UK Innovation Programme, is called the Business Acceptance Testing Tool, or BATT for short. BATT will sit in between a test tool and a training tool, supporting business acceptance activities for workflows, processes, and software. As it is an innovation project, it is being built with some of the latest tech like the Quasar framework. Exciting!
Amidst all of my work, my favourite part of my job is working with people—getting to support them, build them up, learn from them, and see them soar in their careers.
After a hard day at work, I normally spend time with my wife and pets (one cat, two rabbits), play some football, or pursue one of my creative hobbies (look out for me in “Wonder Woman 1984”).
One of the things I love about working for CTG is that you are given a lot of trust and responsibility from day one. I have been treated like family from the first day I started at CTG and encouraged to grow and develop in a direction that aligns with my passions and values. I have never felt like I didn’t have someone to support and help me—whether I need help at home or on a project. One of the most important things I’ve learned while at CTG is that being a good leader isn’t about knowing everything, getting things right all the time, or being perfect—it’s about intentionally, humbly, selflessly, and passionately looking out for those around you, trusting them, and helping them be at their very best. I am always inspired by this quote from John Quincy Adams: “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.”
