Favorite thing to do outside of work: I love to spend time with my family—my husband, John, and two children: Mia, who is 14 years old, and Jake, who is 11 years old. We spend most of our time on the softball and baseball fields watching the kids play.
I start my morning at 6:00 a.m., get the kids on the bus, and then go for a long walk before starting my workday. I work at CTG’s corporate office in the Finance department. I support our clients and internal teams. Each day can look very different, but I spend a lot of my time forecasting, reporting, and auditing day-to-day accounting for my team.
In my 25 years with CTG, I have always worked in the FAC (Financial Accounting Center). I started as an intern and worked my way up to Controller. I have been involved in many projects over the years, but the most notable was traveling to the Netherlands to assist CTG Europe with the implementation of a new payroll system. I remember being extremely nervous, but the Accounting team was very welcoming. It was a very challenging and fulfilling experience.
In the evenings, I like to unwind with my family. Since the pandemic, we make a point to eat together. After dinner, we will watch an episode or two of “Impractical Jokers” or “Monk.” Both kids are involved in sports, so most nights we are running around.
My favorite thing about CTG is the great people with whom I work. I have developed some wonderful friendships over the years. I am lucky to say that I work with a few of my closest friends.
My career advice is not to sit back and wait for opportunities to land in your lap. Put yourself out there; do not wait for it to happen, make it happen. I’ve always loved the quote, “Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.” I would like to think I have always lived by this saying.
