In one of our previous blog posts, we already announced that we would organize a next test class at the beginning of September. And we did!
As the pandemic was getting more intense still, we were wondering how to best organize our test class in all safety, while maintaining the same level of quality and interactivity of the content we deliver. This is how Sven, our test class mentor, came up with a plan to virtualize the test class curriculum. He put a lot of time and effort into it, which turned out to be more than worth it!
We are very proud to say that we now have a virtual test class training! Theory and practice are spread over the day to ensure that we get the best possible learning experience and guarantee that all participants can cope. We even included a virtual pilot project, enabling our new employees to get familiar with working on a project remotely!
The aim of our junior test engineer training program is for students to acquire all testing skills needed to perform as a test professional in any test project. The program contains expert views on plan and value driven software testing approaches and provides content like defining test strategies, test design, test execution and defect management. The following topics are all part of the program: Structured Testing, V-Model, Agile Testing, SCRUM, Test Planning, Test Design, Test Execution, Test Management, Defect Management, Test Reporting, Test Techniques, DevOps, Microfocus ALM, JIRA, Test Management for JIRA, and STBoX (CTG’s software testing methodology).
The training program concludes with an internship in which trainees need to handle all aspects of a test project, going from defining and presenting a test plan over designing and executing tests to presenting test results in a test closure meeting. Next to applying the knowledge acquired during the training program, soft skills like effective communication, diplomacy, critical thinking, assertiveness, are also put into practice during this internship.
By the end of September, these new colleagues will graduate from our test class and will be ready for their first assignment. If you are interested in meeting one of our new testers or you think they can bring added value to your team, contact one of our CTG account managers or send an email to [email protected].
