CTG Guides UZ Brussel on Journey to Improve EMR Testing
UZ Brussel (UZB)
The UZ Brussel (UZB) is a university hospital with almost 4,000 employees that was founded in association with the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and is an integral part of it. With 721 hospital beds, the hospital annually accounts for more than 30,000 admissions, almost as many day-care visits, and 360,000 consultations for patients from home and abroad.
CHALLENGE
UZB was looking for a company that could help them assess and improve the way of working within their electronic medical record (EMR) software development team, leading to a higher-quality development output.
SOLUTION
CTG carried out an assessment that focused on the EMR team and involved stakeholders from many different competencies. It had a clear focus on people, processes, and tools, providing a comprehensive view on the current situation (As Is) and possible short, mid, and long-term improvements that could lead to a desired future state (To Be). From this assessment three items for improvement were selected and further investigated.
